We have a short week this week, and I am so excited. We have Fall Break from Friday until Monday. We have in-service on Thursday for technology training. I will be teaching a class on Discovery Education and a class on great websites for teachers. For my students this week, I will be teaching students about author's purpose. So I have been searching the internet for resources to use with my students and to share with my teaching buddies. I have listed what I have found so far below. If you have any resources that you would like me to link to please comment or email it to me and I will add it to my list. Thank you for reading.
I was very lucky to be chosen to attend ELA Common Core meetings for out county. These meetings allow me to speak directly with state education officials. I have a meeting this Thursday. I would like to have a list of questions about Common Core and the changes that are coming our way. If you have any questions please comment below and I will be sure to ask the questions on Thursday and then post the answers on the blog. Looking forward to reading your questions.
We will be working on analogies this week in class, so I thought I would take a look around the internet and share the resource I found. I put the resources into categories to help teachers find the resource they are looking for.
I'm still alive or at least I think I am. I know I have not posted since school has started, but it has been a crazy five weeks. I received information about this amazing website and had to share this with all the teachers out there. Learn Zillion is a site for grades 3rd-8th, both ELA and Math with free Common Core resources. This site has videos, slide shows, and lesson commentaries. The videos can be assigned to students or you can use them to help you better understand the standards. I hope you find the site very helpful. Let me know if you have any great Common Core sites. I would like to add them to my resource page.
